Just Chillin Since 1880
Long island Ice & Fuel Corporation conforms to National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) product certification program for packaged ice under US Food and Drug Administration. Our ice manufacturing facility is inspected on a yearly basis by NSF (National Sanitation Foundation). Additional inspections are conducted by Suffolk Department of Agriculture.
Effective June 23, 2009 the FDA has finally recognized ice as a food. Long Island Ice & Fuel has been a member in good standing of the IPIA (International Packaged Ice Association) for over 40 years. Look for the IPIA seal of approval on our packages. In order to maintain our good standing in the IPIA we, as an industry leader, conform to the PIQCS
(Packaged Ice Quality Control Standards) which we feel is the utmost priority for the protection of the consumer.
These standards are verified annually in all IPIA member plants by NSF (National Sanitation Foundation), the world-wide leader in food safety solutions and monitoring. Long Island Ice & Fuel conducts regular finished product testing by an independent lab to further ensure product and consumer safety.
We invite any of our existing or potential customers to tour our facilities. As some "ice producers" are rogue suppliers and not registered or inspected by local or federal authorities, you should not do business with an ice supplier if they would not allow you to tour their facility and are a member of the IPIA.
